THE BURDEN OF GIVEN NAMES

Assume that someone gives you a Christmas gift but you, for some reason, don’t want to have it. What would you do? Simply return it or discard it, and no one could force you to keep it. Now how about a given name which you dislike but it persistently sticks on you since the day you came to see this curious world. To get rid of it, in many countries, it is not easy, and legal procedures cost. Obviously this is not fair to us all.

I thought in an advanced society citizens should have the right to change their given name just through an administrative declaration, the day they get their first adult ID.

Name, place of birth, and mother tongue are sources for all kind of discriminations. In fact, we all were born at a same place, a very tiny village. It is called the Earth from a small province known as the Solar System, in the immense universe.

MORSKIE OKU
L’OEIL DE LA MER
THE EYE OF A SEA

(I was told there was a sea in the middle of these high mountains.
These mountains have covered the sea; except for her eye,
because she wants to see the sky
and all these nice guys
who want to see her eye.
So I went to check there,
and now I share
some pictures from over there …)

 MORSKIE OKU
I don’t know if the sea has a mind
But I do know a sea that has an eye
If you want to keep an eye on a sea
Here is the place you can see
The eye of a sea:
Go to Morskie
By horse and you will see
The eye of that sea.

Quelle surprise!
Et c’est vrai, tout est vrai!
Je suis arrivé à cheval
Jusqu’ici pour dire que
Cela est possible:
Une mer au milieu des montagnes
Il est aussi possible:
Des Hommes Vrais
Au milieu d’une marée
D’hommes sans âme.
