POST 271 29OCT2016 AUTUMN TRAINING PROGRAM AT YET KIEU CENTER - NATURE ART- EXERCISE TAN VIEN BAO-MOC Protecting the Wood - DOLCEACQUA in Italy

NATURE ART,
The term Nature here doesn’t mean the natural world, as in Mother Nature.
It means the real nature, the soul of things.

According to Zen philosophy,
anything that has a form has its True Nature, its invisible self,
real character to be discovered.
One of the main objectives of Zen practice is
to reveal the real nature of things,
beyond what we usually know through our senses.

DOLCEACQUA –Comments from the Web

*Amazing place and so suprising to find such a place so near to Ventimiglia. Absolutely worth of visiting.

*Great half day trip from San Remo. Very interesting medieval village, - you can see and imagine way of leaving, - past and present. Stone bridge (from 15 century) loved by Claude Monet looks amazingly unreal. Had a wine testing (local Rose and White wines) with local specialties. Very nice trip! Took us 45 min very pleasant drive from San Remo

*This is a good day trip, but you will need good footwear. Climb up through cobbled ancient alleys past artisan craft shops to the castle atop the hill. Built to protect trade routes the castle dominates the hillside and offers spectacular views. Works that have been put in place to allow access to the more dilapidated parts of the castle

*We visited in the early evening because we were watching a concert in the Piazza. Make sure you take the SP64, rather than doing what we did and ending up on much narrower, extremely steep, single track mountain roads. One of those funny stories to look back on, but at the time, pretty terrifying wondering what we would do..

*Was looking for things to do around Ventimiglia and stumbled across Dolceacqua. Never seen such an old town like this before, such narrow and steep streets and tall town houses of 5-6 stories makes a very strange setting. Similar to the town in the Box Trolls movie :) The similarity was a hit with our children.

*Visiting this city, an old summer town of family Doria from Genoa, became our habit during last 15 years. It has nicely renoivated ruins of Doria castle overlooking an old city, which is a marvel by itself. A labirynth of semi covered, narrow streets with variety of art galleries, local crafts, B&Bs, and apartment houses is something unique and unforgettable....

*Dolceacqua is dominated by an ancient castle that used to protect the town, the valley and all the estates of the noble families around it. The castle and the old town are very characteristic and represent the typical urban development of Ligurian settlement in the middle ages. The roman bridge over the river passing by, complete the perfect landscape for...

*We were on a European road trip and camped around 6 kilometres from here, so I got on my bike one evening and rode down to see the views :) Even tho I didn't get into the castle the little narrow streets and the architecture is simple stunning!!! This is the real Italy.
