POST 657, 18 May 2024 A Small Italian Café I
know a small Italian café located in a corridor that few people noticed in a
building on St Joseph Blvd, Ottawa. It was more than just a place to grab a
cup of delicious Italian espresso; it was to me a hidden gem filled with
nostalgia and memories of a distant past. With every sip of the perfectly
brewed coffee, this place brought back a flood of memories to me; memories of
a country located on the other side of the ocean. It
was in that beautiful land that I had imparted martial arts training to
numerous students through my workshops. After each grueling session of
training, I would regale my students with tales that embodied the virtues of
resilience, perseverance, hope, and happiness… Today,
the rich aroma of the espresso and the fond memories of storytelling in
picturesque cities -Padua, Pisa, Turin, Sangano, Trento, and Rome- evoke
numerous blissful sojourns to the country I love. Charles
