INTRINSIC PROTECTION

The benefits of Bao Moc exercise /Protecting The Wood

You will focus on the technique of breathing of Bao Moc. This is a very valuable exercise

Breathing Technique of Bao-Moc/ Intrinsic Protection

-          Raise both hands then inhale (100%), then exhale only 15% - 20%.  As shown in the pictures.

-          The following move is most important: Apnea + Gong/contraction, as shown in the previous lesson.

-          Finish by a strong exhaling; relax.

-          The technique of Gong in this Bao Moc exercise involves the whole body: muscles, organs, nervous system, inner energy, vessel Conception and vessel Governor (please see pictures below)

-          This breathing technique use the method of Lung Breathing combined with – partly- the method of Belly Breathing at the end of the contraction. It helps to get the habit of taking full breathing capacity of the lungs and the benefit of  Apnea.

Training duration. Daily training is strongly suggested, according to your available time (morning before breakfast, evening before dinner). The minimum is 9 times; the regular for most people is 18 times, then 36. The high level for athlete is 108 times.

Mind.   Keep the mind quiet is the rule to be observed.

-But how to keep the mind quiet?

-Do not think that you want to keep your mind quiet! Just focus on your breathing and on the four following items:

a.HINH=Form. Do correctly the form (gestures) of Bao-Moc

b.THUAN=Flowing. You movements flow like water in a nice stream.

c.TINH=Essence, harmony, precision. Your movements, your breathing, your body all are in harmony.

d.KHI=Inner-Energy. Each gesture, each move must carry a kind of power.

Why is it called an Intrinsic Protection/ Protecting The Wood (Bao-Moc)?  The majority of exercises and training in martial arts and body workout are Extrinsic Performances : aiming the outer performances.  On the reverse, the Bao Moc exercise is aiming to the Intrinsic Protection of the body. Bao-Moc exercise must be very helpful in many situations, for example:

·         In a car accident: Bao Moc training increases the resistance and protection of organs.

·         After a car accident: you regain much faster your balance after such a shock.

·         In crisis situations: earthquake, fire, street revolt etc…

·         In combat: not only your body is to be protected by a kind of iron shirt, also your apnea capacity helps a great deal during the combat; your trained mind and nervous system could give you a superiority over your opponent.

·         In social and family life: you will discover yourself a deep change in your life and in the  relationship with others.  Why? … (Because you possess something with great value inside of you; it is called Intrinsic Protection/Bao-Moc).

'The Grand Canal, Venice, Looking Southeast, with the Campo della Carità to the Right' (1730s), by Canaletto

The 18th-century Italian artist Canaletto didn't tire easily of views of his hometown. Neither, it seems, did those who purchased his paintings. This view of the Grand Canal is one of 20 paintings of Venice that Canaletto produced for just one client. Many other paintings and etchings of the great city can be found within the prolific artist's works, but Canaletto did venture beyond Italy, painting many views of London after he moved there for a few years. Canaletto was renowned and successful in his day, and not too surprisingly, is classed as an important member of the Venetian School.

'The Grand Canal, Venice, Looking Southeast, with the Campo della Carità to the Right' by Canaletto is in the collection of the
Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.
