		THE CATHEDRAL OF VILNIUS Many years ago, on a lovely day in May, we embarked on a journey from Warsaw, driving northward for almost 500 kilometers until we reached Vilnius. I discovered that the capital of Lithuania boasts a rich history dating back to the 14th century, and its Old Town is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, characterized by narrow winding streets, historic churches, and stunning architecture. While in Vilnius, I felt as though I was simultaneously witnessing its past during periods of occupation and experiencing the vibrant present of this country. The following quiet morning, I spent some time at the famous Cathedral of Vilnius, one of Lithuania's most significant religious and architectural landmarks. Beyond its architectural splendor, the cathedral emanates a profound sense of spiritual serenity and reverence. Throughout its history, this place has borne witness to the coronations of Lithuanian kings and queens, serving as a symbol of national identity and a reminder of the nation's resilience and faith during its tumultuous past. In any country around the world, religious sites stand as inviolable fortresses against all aggressors, even the most dangerous among them, and the cultural aggressors.
