TUYẾT PHONG / SNOW-AND-WIND

NAME AND MEANING

Tuyết means Snow; Phong means Wind.

This form uses snow and wind as training symbols to cultivate soft, continuous inner energy. The practitioner learns to generate power internally rather than relying on muscular force.

CLASSIFICATION

Snow-and-Wind is a structured training form within VIETCHIDAO, intended for practitioners of Voviet, Vietvodao, Viettaichi, and Vietkhiphap.

In the Anti-Aging training program, Tuyết Phong (Snow-and-Wind) is the fifth form of deep training, emphasizing internal coordination, energy circulation, and mental stability.

STRUCTURE

Tuyết Phong (Snow-and-Wind) consists of five independent exercises, each focusing on a specific training objective:

1.Snowing (Tuyết Rơi) – relaxation, grounding, and downward energy flow

2.Flying Hawk (Ưng Bay) – balance, expansion, and coordinated movement

3.Deepness (Thâm Xâu) – internal depth, breath control, and stability

4.Strength (Dũng Mạnh) – internal power developed without external tension

5.Crossing Fear (Vô Úy) – mental calmness, confidence, and focused awareness

Vietnamese Lyrics

1.Tuyết rơi nhè nhẹ mà lâu

2.Chim ưng theo gió lên bầu trời cao

3.Anh hùng thám hiểm lược thao

4.Trên đời dũng mãnh ai nào trượng phu

5.Sợ gì cam khổ đường tu

Sợ gì rèn luyện chuyên chu mỗi ngày./.

TRAINING METHOD

Each exercise may be practiced alone or as part of the complete set.

Perform movements slowly and smoothly, maintaining correct posture at all times.

Apply internal contraction (gong) only during moments of stillness, without visible muscular tension.

Breathing should be natural and synchronized with movement.

Repeat each movement nine times, adjusting repetitions if relaxation or control is lost.

Quality of movement and internal awareness are more important than physical intensity.

BENEFITS

Regular practice of Tuyết Phong (Snow-and-Wind) helps to:

Preserve physical strength and joint health

Improve balance and body alignment

Enhance mental clarity, calmness, and emotional stability

Support long-term vitality and anti-aging effects through efficient energy use

COMMON MISTAKES AND CORRECTIONS

Moving Too Fast

Mistake: Rushing through movements reduces internal awareness.

Correction: Slow down until each movement can be clearly felt from inside the body.

Using Excessive Muscular Force

Mistake: Tensing muscles to create strength blocks energy flow.

Correction: Maintain softness; internal power should arise from structure and intention, not force.

Incorrect Application of Gong (Contraction)

Mistake: Contracting continuously or too strongly.

Correction: Apply gentle internal contraction only during stillness, then fully release.

Holding the Breath

Mistake: Stopping or forcing the breath during movements.

Correction: Allow breathing to remain natural and smooth, guided by movement.

Lack of Mental Focus

Mistake: Practicing mechanically without attention.

Correction: Keep awareness on posture, breath, and internal sensation throughout the exercise.

Overtraining

Mistake: Practicing beyond one’s current capacity, leading to fatigue or stiffness.

Correction: Reduce repetitions and prioritize consistency over intensity.

PHILOSOPHY

The anti-aging philosophy of Tuyết Phong (Snow-and-Wind) is based on developing strength through softness.

By training like snow and wind—gentle, continuous, and adaptive—the practitioner learns to conserve energy, protect the body, and cultivate lasting physical and mental vitality./.

POST 741 …

More than three hours after leaving Thanh-Hoa, Mr Nam arrived at the meeting point with Nguyen-Luc, in a suburb of Hanoi.

Nguyen-Luc, greeting Mr Nam: "I have verified the identity of this man. He is not affiliated with any criminal gang. He is just a thug. We shall release him."

Mr Nam removed the handcuffs and checked the pulse of the sleeping man. With the help of Nguyen-Luc, he laid him onto the driver's seat.

Mr Nam: "He'll sleep a little bit more and wake up wondering where he is. What a surprise it'll be for him when he realizes that he is in Hanoi, a hundred and fifty kilometres from his home town!"

Nguyen-Luc: "Back to the reason for your sudden return. I have received confirmation that the boss of Lam-Tieu, head of the criminal gang that we have under surveillance, arrived today in Hanoi from Yokohama. According to our informants, he will meet the leader of another criminal gang tomorrow. We need to know what project they are undertaking and what relationship exists with the American young lady who also arrived from Japan. I witnessed her being attacked and kidnapped by members of their gang."

Mr Nam, thinking for a few seconds: "What's your plan?"

Nguyen-Luc: "I need your talents." Saying that, he showed Mr Nam a card on which were written a telephone number and a password.

Mr Nam: "Is this an official or unofficial mission?"

Nguyen-Luc, holding out his hand to Mr Nam, whispered, Thuan Thien and Mr Nam shaking Nguyen-Luc’s hand replied in a low voice Bao Quoc.

Nguyen-Luc: "We are acting in the national interest."

Nguyen-Luc and Mr Nam, the two companions of the Thuan-Thien Society, left the taxi driver to his fate. They both walked to the police car, which Nguyen Luc had parked around the corner of the street, not far from there. The two brothers in arms were on their way to a new mission. Knowing there is corruption in the police, they would not inform their superiors. The clandestine nature of their mission reinforced their determination: zero tolerance for failure. It was exactly 8:16 pm when Nguyen-Luc started his car.

POST 740 …

In the early 1950s, the war against the French was still going on in full with the famous battle of Dien Bien Phu. In areas under communist control, Ho Chi-Minh, under the influence of the communist movement of Mao Tse-Tung in China, triggered a land reform program which lasted until 1956. The plan was to seize the lands of the landlords and distribute them to proletarian farmers. This reform led to the disappearance of the peasant landowner class who were branded ‘enemies of the people’ in the communist ideology. More than a hundred thousand landowners, big and small, had their land seized. They were arrested and many of them were executed. The grandfather of Mr Nam, who had been regarded as a benefactor of the party of Ho Chi-Minh, did not escape this terrifying purge. He also was executed.

Mr Nam's father, a fervent activist, had become an important member of the Communist Party before the land reform. From its landowner origins and his opinions to the freedom of thought which did not follow the party line, he was disgraced. In 1959, he was arrested and disappeared. Being categorized as of landowner origin and therefore ‘enemy of the people’, his family was isolated from the society and lived under hardship. Mr Nam was born in September 1959, three months after the disappearance of his father. His mother returned to her family and somehow managed to survive. A few years later, during the Vietnam War in the spring of 1965, when Nam was six, his maternal aunt, taking advantage of the great disruption caused by the U.S. bombing of Hanoi, took him with her to the city of Thanh-Hoa where she lived. There, she managed to get him a new identity with a proletarian origin, in order to avoid any discrimination. Those formalities done, he attended school and lived a normal life. Since then, he was known as Tran Van-Nam, son of the late Tran Van-Viet, proletarian peasant from the village of Dung-Tu in the province of Thanh-Hoa, where he spent most of his childhood.

At the age of fourteen, by exceptional circumstances, he met a group of underground people practising martial arts. Their master was a talented martial artist, known by the code name of Tran-Thanh. The master, detecting the exceptional talents of Nam, took him as a student in his group of disciples. Later, Mr Nam became one of the four fearsome masters trained in this underground martial arts school designated by its members as Thap Doi, a camouflage name that has no martial meaning and would not attract the suspicion of the authorities. One of the missions of that school, that trains exceptional high-level martial experts, is to fight dictatorship and injustice.
