In the Ky-Lo learning method the learner will not learn the whole form at once but learn sequence by sequence, under different aspects (action, quality, value, mind, etc.). Therefore, depending on the capacity of the learners, each teacher could decide on the length and the number of Sequences to be performed at each session of training.

In this book the 28 postures are presented in six chapters (Part 1 to part 6).

It is important to understand that Ky-Lo is not a usual bookIt is a book with multi-layers and multi-aspects.

So learning step by step, with deep repetition, assimilation, and reflection will lead to a better understanding of the various contents often hidden inside Ky-Lo.

In fact, Ky-Lo is a kind of forest to a new traveler to discover. Each traveler will gain his or her own discoveries.

At some level, someone could say Ky-Lo is a book without words, only symbols; each picture is a symbol.

POST 461   AUGUST 15, 2020

A MOMENT AT CALICO

A MOMENT AT CALICO

I visited Calico in August 2003 driving a long way from Tucson up north. This small town once gave good production of silver and became a ghost town in the mid-1890s after silver lost its value. Calico is one of a dozen well known ghost towns in the USA such as Rhyolite, St Elmo, Goldfield, Terlingua,  Bodie,  Cahawba.  If you consider that an abandoned place is a ghost town you will be surprised to know that all over the USA more than three thousands ghost towns exist!

In France, Oradour-sur-Glane an abandoned village with a very sad history , is located about 22km from Limoges, the birth place of Vietvodao International (1972). And in Italy, there is a number of best ghost towns for example Craco, Monterano , Balestrino, Pompei . For Pompei, about fifteen years ago, on a very hot day, Master Nguyen Van Viet (Kham Long) accompanied me from Rome to visit this city. To me it was hard to see these impressive scenes and to imagine how terrible things could have happened so swiftly to this town and its people. Ouradour-sur-Glane was abandoned because of a cruel man-made act; Pompei because of a calamity, a violent act made by the Nature. Calico was abandoned just because it fell under the change of the market, and the market changes with the need of the society. Being able to foresee the trend of this change is called having the vision.  In fact a good education must teach the learners not only how to do things but how to envision the evolution of the things they are learning.

Visiting Calico ghost town did not give me any sadness like visiting Oradour or Pompei, I felt only a vague nostalgia, almost an agreeable nostalgia, when I walked around this place observing some remaining architectures and vestiges. At a small shop I bought a souvenir. In the end I found a quiet place to sit, looking far away and dreaming...
