THE CASTLE OF PEACE General Dai-Bang,
known as “The Eagle,” commanded the army of the South Kingdom during a time
of great danger. The aggressive King of the North Kingdom had amassed a
massive army at the border, preparing for an invasion. Despite the looming
threat, General Eagle made no military preparations. Instead, he issued a
public declaration: “Our nation is a land of peace. The movements of another
army on their own soil should not trouble us.” Before long, the northern
forces crossed the border, encountering no resistance. They advanced deeper
into the South Kingdom and set up camps without opposition. Confident of his
impending victory, the King of the North received a letter from General
Eagle. It was written in polite, diplomatic language: “We do not avoid war because
your army is larger than ours. We seek peace because we are a peaceful
people. Therefore, we respectfully invite you to return to your homeland.”
The King of the North laughed, believing that the South’s passivity would
make his conquest easy. With this confidence, he divided his army. He took
his elite soldiers and advanced swiftly toward General Eagle’s castle,
leaving a second group—called the Terrible—behind as reinforcements to follow
at a slower pace. When the elite
group reached the castle, they saw a large inscription on the gate: “The
Castle of Peace.” The surroundings were calm, with no soldiers or defenses in
sight. Unsure of what to do next, the King decided to wait for the Terrible
group to arrive. His army rested, confident that they had already won. But as
time passed, the reinforcements failed to appear. Instead, a messenger
arrived from the castle, delivering a letter to the King. He opened it, and
his heart froze as he read the message: “Our special forces have ambushed and
destroyed your second group.” Before the King could react, the stillness
around the castle erupted into chaos. Like a storm striking from a clear sky,
General Eagle’s hidden army launched devastating attacks from all directions.
Caught off guard in their moment of rest, the northern soldiers stood no
chance. The battle was brief, and the King of the North was captured and
brought before the King of the South. In the aftermath, the strategy of
General Eagle was revealed. He had deliberately made the invasion seem
effortless to lull the enemy into a false sense of security. Meanwhile, he
had carefully prepared ambushes to trap and annihilate the slower Terrible
Group before they could join the main force. Furthermore, his soldiers had
used a network of secret tunnels to leave the Castle of Peace unseen,
allowing them to launch surprise attacks from unexpected directions. When the
captured King of the North was presented to the King of the South, the
southern monarch, enraged by the invasion, wanted to have him tortured to
death. But General Eagle offered wise counsel: “Rather than kill him, treat
him with honor. Keep him as a guest in our kingdom. His son will inherit the
throne, and with his father’s life in our hands, the new king will never dare
attack us.” Following General Eagle’s advice, the King of the North was
spared and held as a guest-prisoner. From that day forward, peace reigned
between the two kingdoms, for the new King of the North knew that his
