(see attached picture) TECHNICAL TRAINING. This exercise aims to develop the rapidity and the
precision of a hand technique called ‘Sword
attack without sword’ from VIET-CHI-KIEM black-belt program of Vietnamese
Art of The Sword. Advanced level will be taught by black-belt-teachers and
red-belt-masters at diverse Spring 2016 Training Sessions.
STRATEGY IN COMBAT AND IN LIFE. In response to the attack of an aggressor
who use the stratagem of Dương-Oai,
Diễu-Võ (Showing off power and
bullying) the solution could be applying this Strategy of Thần-Tốc, Đảo-Phong (Attack like
surprising fire, retreat like unnoticed wind), this means attacking by
surprise with all force and speed, then retreat like a wind blowing away
–then come back hitting at a flank,
and so on, likely in the following scenario: 1.Stay still like a mountain
(showing no sign) while the enemy is showing off his power to impress you. 2.In a sudden, with full force,
speed and precision, hit his vital point, cutting off his rhythm, causing
painful effect. 3.Retreat (in the blink of an
eye, change direction) and hit his ‘tail’ (groin, legs) 4.Change direction and hit his
‘tail/ or head’ in a way that put the enemy in situation of not knowing where
to defense next. 5.Jump away to a distance out of
reach of the enemy and prepare for the next move.
HISTORY.
The case of the Russo-Japanese War can illustrate the advantage of this
Strategy of Than-Toc, Dao-Phong The
Russo-Japanese War 8
February 1904 – 5 September 1905 Tsarist Russia, as a major imperial power,
had ambitions in the East. Russia sought a warm-water port
on the Pacific Ocean for their navy and for maritime
trade. Vladivostok
was operational only during the summer, whereas Port Arthur,
a naval base in Liaodong Province leased to Russia by China, was operational
all year. Nicholas II held the Japanese in
contempt as "yellow monkeys", and he took for granted that the
Japanese would simply yield in the face of Russia's superior power. Japan issued a declaration of war on 8 February 1904.
However, three hours before Japan's declaration of war was received by the
Russian government, the Japanese Imperial Navy attacked the Russian Far East Fleet at Port Arthur.
Tsar Nicholas II was stunned by news of the attack. He could not believe that
Japan would commit an act of war without a formal declaration, and had been
assured by his ministers that the Japanese would not fight. When the attack
came, according to Cecil Spring Rice, first secretary at the British Embassy,
it left the Tsar "almost incredulous". The war
concluded with the Treaty of Portsmouth, mediated by US
President Theodore Roosevelt. The complete victory of
the Japanese military surprised world observers. /. (source Wikipedia)
