|
|
In last July (2018) the
Team ‘BYE’ has been exploring Iceland and in this Post we share with you some
notes and pictures.
(Team ‘BYE’:
BinhLam, Yva, Edio)
SOME NOTES
-Capital and largest city: Reykjavík
-GDP per
capita $70,332
-Iceland is a Nordic island country
in the North Atlantic, with a population of 348,580
and an area of 103,000 km2 (40,000 sq mi), making
it the most sparsely populated country in Europe.[8]
-In 1986 Iceland hosted a summit in Reykjavík between United States President Ronald Reagan
and Soviet Premier Mikhail Gorbachev, during which they took
significant steps toward nuclear disarmament. A few years later,
Iceland became the first country to recognize the independence of Estonia,
Latvia,
and Lithuania
as they broke away from the USSR.

ABOUT ICELAND
(Letter from Tue-Y and
Tue-Chu)
Hi GM,
Yes,
we came back from a very nice trip to a beautiful country.
The
trip was very beautiful and in the times that we had proposed we managed to
make the rounds touching the most interesting and characteristic places.
Isalanda
is a young country where the elements are as if they were in a more
elementary state and more immediate to the perception:
the
water of the rivers, the waterfalls, of the sea and of the glaciers, the
fire of the volcanoes still active,
the
metals of the lava that carves the landscape,
stones
and the crystals of which the mountains are rich,
the
vegetation almost always low because of the wind that sweeps the earth, which
in some cases seems a soft blanket on the pungent rock of the hardened lava,
in others it extends as far as the eye can see with all the variations of
green.
We
are very happy to live this adventure.
