	POST 736 … The next evening, while the train from Hanoi was entering the station in Saigon, two well-built men, standing on the platform wearing dark glasses and holding cellphones with Lam-Tieu’s photo on the screen, were ready to scrutinize all the passengers coming off the trains. Another man was stationed at the taxi stand. After all passengers had come out, Lam-Tieu was not among them. The three men gathered outside, the biggest and oldest one, who appeared to be the chief, said to the other two: "Continue to look around in case he escaped or be on the next train. We will meet again here fifteen minutes before the next arrival.” The two men left and the chief took out his cellphone to send a text message. The next morning, a bus packed with people from a neighbouring town arrived in Saigon. Among the passengers who were slowly stepping down the bus, was Lam-Tieu, carrying his bag. He had sensed the danger and had applied a tactic to avoid arriving in Saigon by train. From his gait, he looked tired. He had a very hectic journey and had spent many hours without sleep. He pulled the brim of his hat onto his eyes and began to walk away without paying attention to which direction he was taking. Suddenly, he fell to the ground after receiving a crisp side-kick in the back of his right knee. Quick as a flash, the thug who attacked him ran away with his bag containing the two kilograms of gold. Bad luck continued to follow Lam-Tieu. (to be continued)

The village all declar'd how much he knew; 'Twas certain he could write, and cipher too: Lands he could measure, terms and tides presage, And e'en the story ran that he could gauge. In arguing too, the parson own'd his skill, For e'en though vanquish'd he could argue still; While words of learned length and thund'ring sound Amazed the gazing rustics rang'd around; And still they gaz'd and still the wonder grew, That one small head could carry all he knew.
