January 2014) VIET-CHI-KIEM Some codes and manners |
|
|
VIET-CHI-KIEM /Art of the Sword Some codes and manners. .
CODE . Following are some most important
points. Respect is a very important aspect in the
practice of VietChiKiem: We show respect to our teacher and our partners; we
show respect to the place and to the audience; we show respect to our
sword. In giving or in receiving a
sword we hold it with both hands, the edge turned toward the giver. Self-Respect is not simply a moral principle but
for us it is a practical way of being ourselves. Who he lacks self-respect
lack moral. Orientation and
Direction are
important to the practice of VietChiKiem. Doing our exercises in a natural
setting (i.e. fields, hill, forest, lake, mountain) we avoid facing directly toward the sun,
especially at sunrise and sunset. In a training room (dao-duong, dojo) the
direction we are facing is called by our code the direction of the ‘South’. This helps a great deal to the
correct orientation of our movements and sequences. Numbers
are part of our Code,
this has nothing to do with the esoteric numerology. Numbers are symbolic meaning and mathematical organization.
The most used numbers in VietChiKiem are: 3 6 8
9 12 14
18 27 28
54 64 108
Counting.
When doing exercises we count up to 9 (not 10) then the counting continue
with the next person . Sitting
with the body right up (in the posture
called ‘Pyramid’). Good manners. Drawing , sheathing, returning the
sword, sitting down, rising up, moving forward, turning backward, etc., all
these gestures are codified in details for the sake of good manners. Sounds
are codified in our
practice as: A, O, I,
Tse, U Hand Seals. A series of twenty four hand-seals
have been standardized by Grand Master Phan-Hoang for the use of VIET-CHI
SYSTEM as a symbolic language, out of any religious meaning. Seal of VietChiKiem. The Seal for VietChiKiem is under the
code name S2 as shown below. S2 – THE
LUCIDITY - TUỆ GIÁC ẤN
Form: thumb-forefinger
Meaning: have
a brilliant mind and lucidity (French version) Code et bonnes manières.
I, Tse, U

SEGOVIA |

Segovia is a city in the autonomous community of Castile and León, Spain. It is the capital and most populated municipality of
the Province of Segovia. The city is famous for
its historic buildings including three main landmarks: its midtown Roman aqueduct, its cathedral (one of the last
ones to be built in Europe following a Gothic style), and the castle, which served as one
of the templates for Walt Disney's Cinderella Castle. The city center was
declared of World Heritage by UNESCO in 1985. (From
